Inspected and determined main control is definitely the cause of failure, advised customer unit cannot be repaired."

"Customer stwted unit stays in sensing, never locks lid and progresses in cycle, but in drain and spin, unit looks lid properly and runs. Found unit had f8e1 error, in diagnostics checked all functions, unit checks ok mechanically. Tested unit and found unit in normal cycle starts, in sensing it fills up and starts agitating. Unit went through into wash cycle properly. Determined reset from diagnostics corrected issue. Recalibrated and performed hard reset on main control, advised customer if issue happens again, unit needs new main control. Customer to monitor, unit checks ok. Main control W11162438 $324.62Labor $123.00"

Could not re-create any issues, ran full cycle underload and issue did not show up, determined main control is the most likely culprit, but could not confirm issue, main control W10447143 is discontinued. Advised customer of this, customer to monitor for now, checks OK."

A-to-Z was out to take a look at my LG washing machine which was making a grinding noise. I was told that it was the gearbox, but that the gearbox was encased in the motor. After doing some research, I discovered that the motor has a 10 year warranty. I reached out to LG who sent out another tech to evaluate and discovered that the gearbox is not encased in the motor.Thus I needed to pay for a second service call. A-to-Z should refund the $127.93 that I paid for the service call that resulted in the problem being misdiagnosed. Had the issue been diagnosed properly from the start, a warranty claim would not have been started as the gearbox is not covered under the warranty. I will be waiting for someone from A-to-Z to contact me.
