What’s not to love about Sunday brunches? They combine the best of breakfast and lunch, and they’re a great way to spend your time off. It’s a meal that just gets better if you live in Cincinnati because you have so many great options. Here are 5 of our favorite spots for brunch on Sundays.
Red Feather: Head to this scratch kitchen in the Oakley neighborhood for a memorable meal. One local favorite is the Hash Mess, a big helping of pork belly, avocado, crispy potatoes, cheddar cheese, and some other things all topped with a sunny side up egg. The complimentary beignets don’t hurt either.
Symphony Hotel: For brunch in a unique setting, how about this restored 1871 townhome that’s become a boutique hotel? Why do the rooms have composer themes, and the omelets have names like Schubert and Mozart? That’s because it’s across the street from Music Hall. Plus, much of the fresh seasonal produce comes straight from nearby Findlay Market.
Matt the Miller’s Tavern: For those Sundays when you’re bringing your children with you, Matt’s will make your whole family happy. Kids can dine at their own mini-buffet featuring tater tots and chicken tenders while adults feast on classics like Belgian waffles and fried chicken. There are even 2 locations to make it ultra-convenient.
Maplewood Kitchen and Bar: If you’re just visiting, you might not know that Cincinnati has its own special breakfast dish. You can sample for yourself here. It’s a sausage patty with German origins. If you prefer something lighter, the lemon ricotta pancakes with blueberry compote are delicious too. The ordering system is a bit unusual as you go straight to a cash register, and get your own drinks. As a bonus, brunch is served Saturday as well as Sunday.
Grand Finale: When you see how often they win the best of brunch awards from Open Table and other websites, you’ll know that the Grand Finale in nearby Glendale is always a reliable choice. Plus, like their name suggests, the homemade desserts alone are worth the trip.
